Strahan may be a small town, but we are lucky with our services and facilities. Some helpful information may include:

Mobile Telephones
Telstra Mobilenet is the only service that works in Strahan. None of the others operate in or around the town.

Strahan Nursing Centre
Strahan is provided with a nursing centre, open 7 days. Phone 64 726 300. There is a local doctor in attendance some hours, in addition to qualified nurses. The nearest pharmacy is at Queenstown, phone 64 711 651.

Strahan Visitors Centre
Located on the Esplanade and open 7 days from 11am to 6pm, longer in the summer months (seasonal variations to hours apply).

Church services
Anglican – Sunday 4pm; contact Colina Bailey 64 717 273; the church is located in Harvey St, just down from Castaway on the opposite side of the road.

Catholic – Mass times vary, ask us at reception for the current times; the church is located in Harvey St, 250m west of Castaway on the same side of the street.

Strahan Supermarket
Open 7 days from 7.30am to 6.30pm (longer opening hours in the busy summer months). Located on the corner of Harvey & Reid Streets, 150 m east of Castaway.

The supermarket has a small selection of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals available.

Strahan Online Access Centre
Should you need to check your email, download digital photographs and burn to a CD, photocopy, laminate or send a fax, then the Online Access Centre is for you. The Centre is located in the Customs' House building (next to the Post Office) on the corner of the Esplanade and Hurst Street.
Opening hours currently are:
Monday, Tuesday & Thursday - 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm
Wednesday - 9.00 am to 1.00 pm

Strahan Post Office
O pen from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday.

There is a BP Service station in town located in Reid Street, on the right as you are coming into town from Hobart & Queenstown, opposite the big kangaroo.
Opening hours are from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm, 7 days a week.

There are no banking facilities in Strahan. Nearest branches are in Zeehan (ANZ) and Queenstown (CBA). Australia Post offers limited CBA banking facilities. Strahan Supermarket is an ANZ agency.

ATM Machines
There are 2 machines in town:

• ANZ in town centre on the Esplanade, near Hamers Hotel
• cash machine at Azzas Takeaway at west Strahan
• Eftpos
  All retail outlets in town accept Eftpos however not all provide "cash out" facilities.

Hairdresser
Strahan Hair & Beauty is located within the Strahan Supermarket complex on the corner of Reid and Harvey Streets. Phone contact 6471 7708. There is also a beautician available some week days for facials, manicures, massage, etc.

Butcher
Located within the Strahan Supermarket and Newsagency complex on the corner of Harvey and Reid Streets.
